Background
Released on 21 April 2023, only fifteen weeks after I Rest My Case, and running eighty-five minutes against that album's forty. The two records together illustrate his working method better than anything else in the catalogue: he does not pace releases, he simply releases.
Guest appearances
Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, The Kid LAROI and Mariah the Scientist all appear. That is a notably mainstream guest list for an artist who had spent most of his career without one, and it reads as a deliberate attempt at crossover under the new Motown deal.
Reception
It debuted at number five on the Billboard 200. Critically it landed better than the chart position suggests, though the length again divided reviewers.

I Rest My Case came out on 6 January 2023 at under forty minutes. This arrived on 21 April at eighty-five. Nothing about that sequence resembles a conventional release schedule, and it is the clearest illustration of his working method.
The crossover attempt
Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, The Kid LAROI and Mariah the Scientist is a notably mainstream guest list for an artist who had built a career largely without one. Under a new Motown deal, the intent was fairly transparent.
Reception
It debuted at number five. Critically it landed better than that suggests, though as ever the length divided reviewers.
