Editorial Policy
Last Updated: June 2026
NBAYoungBoyKids.com is committed to the highest editorial standards for an independent fan information site. This page explains how we research, write, fact-check, and update our content — and what readers can expect from us. Our policies exist to ensure that everything we publish is accurate, sourced, respectful, and worth your time.
This editorial policy applies to every page on this site, including profile pages, biographies, family tree content, and news updates. It is reviewed and updated as our standards evolve.
1. Our Editorial Principles
We follow seven core principles in everything we publish:
- Accuracy first. Every fact we publish has been verified against reputable sources.
- Transparency in sourcing. We tell readers where our information comes from.
- Respect for minors. NBA YoungBoy's children are real children. We treat them accordingly.
- No fabrication. We never invent facts, names, dates, or quotes.
- No defamation. We do not republish unverified accusations or harmful claims about anyone.
- Timely updates. When new verified information emerges, we update our content.
- Accountability. When we make mistakes, we correct them publicly and quickly.
2. Our Sources
We use a clear hierarchy of sources, prioritizing the most reliable:
Tier 1: Primary Sources (Most Reliable)
- Statements made directly by NBA YoungBoy in verified interviews, song lyrics, or official social media
- Public statements made by the children's mothers on their verified social media accounts
- Court records, official documents, and government filings (where publicly accessible)
- Photos and videos posted by the family members themselves
Tier 2: Reputable Journalism
- Major national outlets: AP News, Reuters, Billboard, The Fader, Complex, Yahoo Entertainment, PEOPLE Magazine, XXL
- Verified celebrity news outlets: TMZ, Variety, Hollywood Reporter (used carefully)
- Established hip-hop press: Source Magazine, HotNewHipHop, HipHopDX
- Wikipedia — for cross-referenced biographical data only (never as a sole source)
Tier 3: Secondary Sources
- International entertainment outlets (Briefly, Yen, Sportskeeda) — used to corroborate Tier 1 and 2 reporting
- Specialty celebrity-family blogs — used only when Tier 1 and 2 sources are unavailable, and always cross-checked
Sources We Do NOT Use
- Anonymous tipsters or unsourced rumors
- Fan accounts on Twitter/X or TikTok without verification
- Reddit speculation
- AI-generated content from competing sites
- Outlets known for fabricated celebrity stories
3. Our Fact-Checking Process
Before any page is published or updated, we apply the following process:
Step 1: Multi-Source Verification
Every major claim — names, birth dates, family relationships, locations, career milestones — must be verified by at least two independent reputable sources. When sources disagree, we either flag the disagreement or omit the claim entirely.
Step 2: Source Recency Check
For time-sensitive information (current age, latest album, marriage status, child count), we verify against the most recent reporting available. We do not publish facts that are clearly outdated.
Step 3: Cross-Reference Against the Family's Own Public Posts
When possible, we verify claims against what the family members themselves have publicly shared on Instagram, YouTube, or in interviews. The family's own words take precedence over secondhand reporting.
Step 4: Discrepancy Resolution
When sources conflict (for example, when one outlet reports a birth date as June 19 and others report July 19), we:
- Lead with the most commonly cited version
- Acknowledge the discrepancy in the editorial note
- Continue searching for the original verified source
4. Our Policy on Minor Children
NBA YoungBoy's 13 publicly known children are all minors — the oldest is currently 9 years old. We hold ourselves to a higher standard when writing about them:
What We Publish About Minors
- First names, surnames, and nicknames already shared publicly by their parents
- Birth months and years (specific dates only when the parents have shared them)
- Family relationships (parents, siblings, half-siblings)
- Music video appearances and other public moments documented by reputable outlets
- General location (city or state) when publicly known
What We Do NOT Publish About Minors
- Exact home addresses
- School names or specific educational details
- Medical or health information
- Photos that have not been publicly shared by the parents
- Unverified personal details
- Content speculating about their future, career paths, or personal traits beyond what their parents have publicly described
- Anything that could be used to identify or locate them in real life
Why This Matters
Children of public figures have privacy rights that exist independently of their parents' fame. We respect these rights by limiting our coverage to publicly shared information and refusing to amplify content that crosses appropriate boundaries.
5. Our Policy on the Mothers and Adult Family Members
The mothers of NBA YoungBoy's children and other adult family members (Sherhonda Gaulden, Jazlyn Mychelle, etc.) are adults with public-figure status. We cover them according to standard journalistic norms with these additional limits:
- We do not republish unverified personal accusations (e.g., abuse claims, infidelity rumors, paternity disputes) unless they have been:
- Reported by Tier 1 or Tier 2 sources, AND
- Officially addressed by the parties involved (charges filed, court records, or public statements)
- We respect privacy choices — some of the mothers (Nia, Arcola, Niah) have chosen private lives. We do not dig for personal information they have not chosen to share.
- We do not present rumor as fact — when something is disputed or unconfirmed, we say so clearly.
6. Our Policy on AI-Assisted Content
We believe in transparency about how content is produced. Here is our policy:
Where We Use AI
- Research — AI helps us aggregate and organize information from multiple sources during the initial research phase
- First drafts — AI may produce initial drafts of certain sections, which are then heavily edited by human editors
- Image generation prompts — We use AI image generators only for non-photographic feature graphics (typography-based designs, abstract aesthetics) that do not depict real people
Where We Do NOT Use AI
- Fact-checking — All facts are verified by human editors against real sources
- Final editorial decisions — Every published page is reviewed and approved by a human editor
- Realistic images of NBA YoungBoy, his children, or his family members — We do not generate AI photos of real people, particularly minors
- Quotes — We never invent or AI-generate quotes attributed to real people
All content on this site is reviewed and edited by humans before publication. If we ever publish AI-generated content without human review, it is a mistake — and we will correct it.

- We are not affiliated with any competing artist, label, or family
- All content reflects our independent editorial judgment
- We may display advertising through automated ad networks (Google AdSense or similar); these ads are not endorsements
10. Update Frequency
To maintain accuracy, we follow a regular update schedule:
- Profile pages: Reviewed every 6 months for accuracy
- Family Tree and Children pages: Updated whenever a new child is born, a new relationship is announced, or major news occurs
- Biography page: Updated quarterly to reflect career milestones, new albums, tour dates, and legal developments
- All pages: Updated immediately when significant verified news breaks
Every page includes a "Last Updated" date at the top so readers can see the recency of the information.
11. Reader Feedback
We genuinely value reader feedback. If you have:
- A correction
- A suggested topic we should cover
- A concern about how we've covered someone
- A question about our editorial process
Please reach out through our contact page or email editorial@nbayoungboykids.com. We read every message.
Our Commitment
This editorial policy exists because we believe fans of NBA YoungBoy deserve a better resource than what most of the internet currently offers. The Gaulden family — like any family in the public eye — deserves accurate, respectful coverage. We hold ourselves to that standard every day.
If we ever fail to meet the standards described on this page, please tell us. We will listen, correct what needs correcting, and do better.
